The Tolupan people are located in the remote central mountains of Honduras. The tribe lives as some of the poorest people in the country. They range from slightly to severely malnourished, with some dying each year from starvation. These humble people struggle to hold on to their traditional ways as extreme poverty plagues their villages.
Our Feeding Center is open to children ages 3 - 13 years old. This year 65 Tolupan children are receiving a protein and vitamin enriched lunch 4 days a week. Our goal is to open our doors 5 days a week, providing daily meals for these sweet little lives.
Our main focus in the Center is education. We begin each day with devotional time. The children are given daily Bible lessons and learn about the love of Jesus.
After everyone has eaten and stomachs are full, we have activities focused on team building and critical thinking.
In addition to our learning time at the Center, we also provide English classes in the local public school. The children are so eager to learn!
